In this eventuality the first-time registration procedure must be followed, and the passport and/or air tickets should be presented.
Registration procedure can be found under 'How to Register for Work'.
Jobsplus Registers are for persons who are residing in Malta. When going abroad, even for a short holiday, you are to inform the Registration Unit or your Employment Advisor so that your name is removed from Jobsplus Registers. Once you are back on the island, you can start registering by either using our online services or by setting an appointment at one of our Job Centres.
If you're registered for employment and find a one-off work activity, you can engage in it for up to 5 hours in any one week, not exceeding 240 hours annually, while remaining on the Register. However, you must obtain approval from the Jobsplus Registration Unit at least one week in advance. Failing to inform Jobsplus and engaging in unapproved work can result in being removed from the register for six months. The necessary application form is available at any Job Centre or on the Jobsplus website.
A registered unemployed person who has found employment must fill the Declaration of Employment (Jobsplus 34-Orange Form) and send it to the Jobsplus Justification Unit in Hal Far or to the Gozo Centre. This form can be obtained either from Jobsplus outposts or downloaded from the website.
If you are on probation in a new job, you must notify Jobsplus a day before starting work by submitting the Declaration of Employment (Jobsplus 34-Orange Form). This form is available upon first-time registration, at any Job Centre, or can be downloaded from the Jobsplus website here. Concurrently, your employer is legally required to submit an engagement form to Jobsplus when you start. If employment is terminated during the probation period, you can resume registering for work as usual.
In this instance, the registrant is simply required to notify the details of such change:
By Email: Sending a copy of his/her Maltese Identity/ Residence Card from both sides to any of the Job Centres generic emails (qawra.jobsplus@gov.mt, mosta.jobsplus@gov.mt, birkirkara.jobsplus@gov.mt, birgu.jobsplus@gov.mt, valletta.jobsplus@gov.mt, gozo.jobsplus@gov.mt)
By visiting Jobsplus Job Centres: You can find the nearest Job Centre. It is advisable to fix an appointment if you choose to visit one of our offices.
